VIRGIN Atlantic has announced that it will launch flights between Heathrow and Accra, starting May 24.

The airline plans to operate three services a week, subject to government approval, using an A340-300 aircraft with 240 seats – 34 in Upper Class, 35 in premium economy and 171 in economy class.

Flights from Heathrow will depart on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 22h30, arriving in Accra at 04h15 the next morning. The return service will depart on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 10h15, arriving in London at 18h00 the same day.

The airline said flights would be timed to offer good connections to and from New York Newark.
